The DMV is full of a lot of artists. With the amount of people making music growing in the area, that leaves some people to be slept on. Throughout 2017, we’ve seen notables like Rico Nasty, WillThaRapper, Q Da Fool, and more killing it. But there are some other rappers in the area who aren’t as popular as the former, that have been putting in work. Below is a list of four rising rappers from the area that have been on solid runs so far in 2017.

OC Veezy

OC Veezy first jumped on the scene in 2016 with his Juggin & Thuggin mixtape and he’s been consistent with his drops since then. So far in 2017 he’s released two projects, Jugg Love and Big Boy Shit, and has also dropped some bangers like the recently released “Double OC” featuring WillThaRapper. As we move throughout the rest of the year, look for the Temple Hills rapper to continue making noise.

You may have seen TaeDawg‘s name around even if you aren’t familiar with his music. Over the years the rapper has appeared on tracks with DMV notables QDaFool and Shabazz; but the rapper is a force of his own. With a style different from most of the DMV trap scene, the rapper has recently been on a solid run recently dropping his new mixtape OozinDawg. Like expected TaeDawg delivered on the project, and if the hype ensues he will be a name you know before the end of the year.

Travy Nostra

Travy Nostra has done things the right way, no gimmicks just hard work. The Takoma Park, MD rapper has built himself a solid buzz throughout 2017. With a crazy flow and the ability to kill any thing he’s steps on, there aren’t many rappers in the area that can hold their own with the “Buck 50” rapper. Nostra is currently working on his Rap Game Nostra 2 mixtape

Over the past few months DC rapper TWINN has been on absolutely fire. Without any projects out, it seems like the rapper has came out of absolutely no where. He’s taken the YouTube route, releasing all his new music in the form of visuals and it has been working well for him. With his menacing style, the rapper has been killing just about any beat he’s jumped on over the past few months.
