While most people generally see the artist and producers as the most important individuals in music, there are others that are equally as important. There are engineers, videographers, DJs, and the graphic designers. Generally helping put together the artist’s artwork, graphic designers can be a key to an artist’s success. With so many artists biting each others styles, whether it’d be the way the rap or the beats they rap on, one way they can stand out is through their album artwork. Memorable artwork can last just as long as the music. Last year we saw dope covers on projects from artists like Lil Uzi Vert, The Game, Isaiah Rashad, The Weeknd, Travis Scott, Young Thug, Solange, and others.
With the amount of interesting artwork we see each year, as expected more and more people are looking to become graphic designers. One person who’s trying to put his stamp in the design game is 15 year old Maryland native WorldOfJuan. Known for his cartoon bubbly style, he started designing last summer when he was just 14. While most people received inspiration maybe from other designers or artwork, Juan got his from producer Metro Boomin. After Metro dropped Savage Mode with 21 Savage last year, he noticed the producers work ethic and as a result, was inspired by it. However his design inspirations come from Kid Graphic, Remain 3K, Reskdstroy, CartoonBoomin, and a few others.
Even though he’s only been in the game for less than a year, WorldOfJuan does have some notable credits. Inside the DMV he has worked with artists such as Big Flock and WillThaRapper. However outside of the area he has credits from Famous Dex, Trill Sammy, Lil Pump, and Ski Mask The Slump God. While he loves doing cover art, he has future plans of dipping into fashion and creating his own streetwear brand, as well as other projects. So be on the lookout for WorldOfJuan in 2017.
